MESSAGES: FROM THE BISHOP OF MALOLOS

Office of the Bishop
Diocesan Pastoral Center
Immaculate Conception Parish – Cathedral and Minor Basilica Complex
Malolos City

I wish to impart my sincerest greetings to our Golden Jubilarian Reverend Monsignor Vicente “Teng” Manlapig, P.C. on the occasion of his 50th Sacerdotal Anniversary.

It is but providential that Msgr. Teng's Golden Sacerdotal Anniversary coincides with in the year of our Golden Jubilee Celebration as a diocese. The theme of our celebration, “Diocese of Malolos: Biyaya at Pananampalataya, Fifty Years of Transforming Grace and Unwavering Faith” could very well speak of the fifty years of transforming grace and unwavering faith of Msgr. Teng.

The past five decades in the ministry of Msgr. Teng reflect the many years of frutiful and meaningful service to God and to His people. His fifty years of being a priest mirror the very action of Jesus in the Eucharist. Every priest just like the bread and wine is taken, broken and given in the sacrifice of the mass. Msgr. Teng was taken from his comfort zone fifty years ago to be molded and fashinoed in the very image of Jesus Christ, the High Priest. He was being broken each day as a priest everytime he experiences trials, persecutions and desolations. Finally he is being given each day just like the bread and wine in order to give life, to inspire and to remind people of Jesus' presence in our life.

Fifty years that has been your life and still will be for remaning years to come... to be taken, to be broken and to be shared. Thank you for your generous response to the call of God. May you continue to inspire us to believe in God's unconditional love and to be faithful to the gift of the priesthood. Congratulations and God bless you!

Most. Rev. Jose F. Oliveros, D.D.
Bishop of Malolos
